To get an exact idea about what expert system is, you can refer to one of my articles based on expert system. Here, let's take an overview of components of expert system:
1. Knowledge Base:
Can be imagined as a big book filled with facts and rules.
It stores knowledge about a specific domain (like medicine or finance) and the rules to solve problems.
2. Inference Engine:
It interprets the knowledge from the base and finds solutions for user problems.
It applies rules to known facts and figures out new info.
3. Knowledge Acquisition and Learning Module:
Think of it as a student who keeps learning.
It lets the expert system learn more from different sources and adds that knowledge to the base.
These are the three main components of an Expert System.
