MindStick DataConverter is a powerful tool which helps you to:

Using MindStick DataConverter, you can browse records from different databases, apply filters on those records and save records in XML, Excel, CSV and HTML formats — making it easy to transfer records from one place to another.
MindStick DataConverter supports all major database servers like SQL Server 2000/2005/2008, Oracle, Pervasive and Microsoft Access.
Currently the .mdb file format of Access database is supported by MindStick DataConverter.
When you save any query text in MindStick DataConverter, that text is known as a query snippet. You can save complex queries as snippets and reuse them by drag and drop into the query analyzer window.
When you want to execute your own queries, you can use the query analyzer. You can execute all SQL (Structured Query Language) statements in the query analyzer window.
Write down your query in the Query Analyzer window, then click on the Run Query menu option.
When you establish a connection with a database, all tables of that database are displayed in the Explorer window. All saved query snippets are also displayed there. You can directly drag and drop query snippets and table names into the query analyzer window.
Go to the Options menu and click on the Explorer sub-menu option. Clicking Explorer will show or hide it depending on its current state.
Open the Explorer window. Find the Query Snippets button at the bottom of the Explorer window (if not visible, click on the smart tag and select Add or Remove Buttons, then click on Query Snippets button). Click on Query Snippets button to see all saved snippets.
Click the Tables button to display all available tables in the Explorer window. Click the Query Snippets button to see all saved query snippets.
Click on the Option menu, then click on Setting sub-menu. The Setting dialog box will open where you can specify the separator character for your CSV file.
You can use the Option menu to change settings for CSV files and to show/hide the Explorer window.

Yes. Open the login window, check the Advance option, check Custom Connection String, then click Next — you will see a text area where you can enter your own connection string.
Whenever you want to use the OleDb option or provide your own connection string, you can use the Advance option in the Login window.
Yes, you can open multiple connections in MindStick DataConverter simultaneously.
Whenever you want to execute your own SQL statements in the query analyzer window, you can use the Run Query button to execute them.
The value you provide in the Nick Name text box is displayed in the menu of DataConverter.
If you have already created a DSN (Data Source Name), you can use the "I already have DSN" option in the MindStick DataConverter login window.
If databases are not displayed after providing the connection string, recheck: the connection string (server name, user id and password), and verify that the database server has databases and that you have the required permissions.
Click on "Update Local Grid Value" menu option. The dialog box opens — select the column name from the dropdown, add the new value in the textbox, and click OK to reflect the changes on the local grid.
No, any modification you perform on the Local Grid is reflected only on the local grid value — not in the source database.
Right click on the output area, click on Export option, then click on EXCEL option.
Click on the Reset Filter menu option to rollback the data to its original state.
Type your query in the query window, right click on it, select "Add Snippet / Add Selected Snippet" from the pop-up menu. The Add Snippet dialog will open — provide a name for the snippet and click OK to save it.
