One day, all of the world's computers mysteriously vanish, and you awaken in a technologically-disconnected world. The absence of your smartphone alarm would be the first thing keeping you from waking up on time.
You would start getting ready for work after the situation's first shock subsided. The lights wouldn't come on, you couldn't take a shower or brush your teeth. Why? Public utilities like electricity, gas, and water are managed by enormous computer systems.
Then, after dressing, you would proceed to your automobile outside. It wouldn't start until the car was made more than thirty years ago. Nowadays, a controller area network controls the majority of the car's systems (basically an onboard computer). The same applies to public transportation, which would be impossible. With all the traffic lights out, even if your car did start, the traffic would be a nightmare. Finally, you'd make up your mind to walk to work.
You're not off to a good start without technology today!
How does modern technology affect daily life?
You would reach work after a long day of walking and run into a similar circumstance. There wouldn't be the modern conveniences that you take for granted. If the postal service is still in operation, you might consider conducting business that way, but it probably wouldn't be quick enough to deliver your correspondence to its destination.
Whatever has not yet gone bad will be lunch. It appears that the entire workday will be a waste, and returning home will be equally challenging. Dinner preparation will be like camping.
Once you understand that downloading a movie to watch later is not an option, your heart would begin to sink. Reading by candlelight or playing an acoustic instrument would be the extent of the evening's entertainment.
What Can You Do Without Technology in a Day?
What Most Schools Don't Teach was a video that Code.org, a nonprofit organisation devoted to increasing access to computer science in schools, released in 2013. The video gained popularity. In it, computer industry leaders Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates, NBA player Chris Bosh, and artist Will.i.am urged kids to learn how to code.
According to Gabe Newell, co-founder of video game firm Valve, 'the programmers of tomorrow are the magicians of the future.' When contrasted to everyone else, 'you'll appear to have magic powers.'
Learning to code was compared in the film to becoming a musician or athlete. At the same time, it minimized the challenge of understanding code by portraying it as straightforward math.
Is It Possible to Live Without Technology?
The internet is utilized by 4.66 billion individuals worldwide, who greatly profit from it. Our daily lives—both at work and at home—are greatly facilitated. We probably agree that it is physically possible to live without technology. However, we'd also probably agree that giving up electronics for a day would be unreasonable and extremely uncomfortable.
Technology is thankfully prevalent everywhere. This means that, unless you decide to, you'll probably never have to go a day without using your phone, social media, or digital gear. Your regular routine can continue to include notifications and podcasts. Modern life as we know it will continue as long as competent IT professionals are creating and maintaining technology.
