Causes of High Blood Pressure?

Blood pressure is a measure of the force of blood pushing against the walls of blood vessels. The heart pumps blood into the blood vessels that carry it throughout the body. High blood pressure, also called high blood pressure, is dangerous because it makes it harder for the heart to pump blood around the body and contributes to atherosclerosis or atherosclerosis, stroke, kidney disease, and heart failure.

What is 'normal' blood pressure? Blood pressure measurements are defined as 120/80. '120 divided by 80' is displayed. The top number is called systole, and the bottom number is called diastole. The range is as follows:

Normal: less than 120 more than 80 (120/80)

 Increase: less than 120129/80

 Hypertension level 1: 130139/8089

Stage 2 hypertension: 140 or higher / 90 or higher

 Hypertension crisis: 180+ / 120+ See a doctor immediately

If your blood pressure is above the normal range, talk to your doctor about how to lower your blood pressure.

 Causes of High Blood Pressure?

The exact cause of high blood pressure is unknown, but several things may play a role, including:

  •  to smoke
  •  overweight or obese
  •  lack of physical activity
  •  Too much salt in your diet
  •  Drinking too much (more than 1-2 glasses a day)

In 95% of hypertension cases in the United States, the underlying cause cannot be found. This type of hypertension is called 'essential hypertension'.

Essential hypertension remains somewhat of a mystery but is associated with certain risk factors. High blood pressure runs in families and affects men more than women. Age and race also play a role. In the United States, the gap starts to narrow around age 44, although blacks can have twice as high blood pressure as whites. After age 65, black women have the highest incidence of high blood pressure.

Who is more likely to develop high blood pressure?
