How to edit and delete contacts with Google Contacts

You can edit and delete your contacts from your Android Smartphone with the Google Contacts on your computer. And the changes you do in contacts with Google Contacts will sync to your all Android devices. Here is how to edit, delete, block, remove, and undo changes.

On Computer:

How to edit contacts from Google Contacts

The details like contact’s profile, school, work, or organization you can’t change.

1. Open ‘Google Contacts.’

2. Find the contact you want to edit.

3. Click on the ‘Contact’s name.’

4. Click the ‘Edit’ (pencil icon) at the upper right corner.

5. Update the information.

6. And click ‘Save.’

How to delete contacts from Google Contacts

1. Open ‘Google Contacts.’

2. Find the contact you want to remove.

3. Tick the boxes of the Contact’s name to select multiple contacts.

4. Click the ‘More’ icon.

5. Select ‘Delete’.

6. Again, click ‘Delete’ to confirm.

How to undo changes in Google Contacts

If you want to cancel the changes you have made then within 30 days you can undo them. Here how to undo changes in Google Contacts.

1. Open ‘Google Contacts.’

2. Open the ‘More’ options.

3. Select ‘Undo changes.’

4. Select a time you want to go back.

5. And click ‘Confirm.’

How to add contacts to favorites

If you want a contact to show up at the top in the contact list, then you can add the people to your favorite.

1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app.

2. Touch a ‘Contact’ to add to favorites.

3. Touch the ‘Favorite’ (Start icon) at the top to add it to favorite contacts.

How to delete a contact

1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app.

2. Select a ‘Contact’ to delete.

3. Touch ‘More’ button.

4. Select ‘Delete’.

5. Again, touch ‘Delete’ to confirm.

Touch and hold a contact to select multiple contacts and touch and select contacts to delete. Lastly, touch ‘Delete.’

How to block a contact

You can block a contact number and report it as a spammer to stop receiving calls and messages from that person.

1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app.

2. Select a ‘Contact’ to block.

6. Touch ‘More’ button.

3. Select ‘Block numbers.’

4. Touch ‘Block’.

5. Mark the box to ‘Report as spam.’

If you want to unblock the number under the “More” option > Select “Unblock numbers.”

How to undo changes in Contacts app

To erase the changes you have made:

1. Open the ‘Contacts’ app.

2. Under the menu, select ‘Settings.’

3. Go to ‘Manage contacts.’

4. Touch ‘Undo changes.’

5. Select an account, if prompt.

6. Select a time you want to go back.

7. And click ‘Confirm.’
