One day in a lifetime, you will experience getting yourself locked out of your car. Especially, if you’re frequently using your vehicle wherever you go. Some people leave the spare keys with nearby family members, and also sometimes stick a magnetized key somewhere in their car’s engine bay where they can easily access it from underneath. These are all good options, but what happens if you don’t have cellular network or roadside assistance along with you?

That kind of moment can be stressful, at the end, some car owners might prefer to keep the matter to themselves rather than asking for help from anyone. They think that help is too far away, that is why they tend to try to get inside their car on their own. Do you know that this can turn into the beginning of the disaster?

The drivers will start doing anything only to open their vehicle’s door, without knowing the risks. Some people don’t realize that some of their efforts are making the condition even worse.

FLYING INTO PANIC MODE
Staying calm is the only best way to do. Getting anxious in situations like this won’t make your car unlock itself or make the situation pass faster. Instead, it can push you to take a drastic action and then you might end up with regret at the end of the day. Some people will start to think “why don’t I do something to solve the dilemma?” Well, of course without knowing that it can be harmful for them. We’re talking about broken windows and attempts to crowbar doors open, which certainly will make them always regret their decision.

NOT CHECKING THE KEYS THOROUGHLY
Think about every time you’ve scrambled around the house in a mad rush looking for your phone or glasses, while actually it is on the sofa or anywhere which you have never thought before. Many times when drivers find themselves locked out of their car, they lose their normal and cool mind. Because the panic will come first in their mind, they won’t easily focus. As a result, some never check or remember whether their car keys are with them or where they were last seen.

FORCIBLY TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR
Trying to wedge a car door open is a bad idea. Many people and online articles will say to use a coat hanger, wedge and metal rod to get back. As a matter of fact, it is nearly impossible to success unlocking the door with those methods without bringing serious damages to the car door. If you’re currently in Sydney, you are lucky, because you can call an emergency locksmith in Sydney instead of going for DIY route.

SMASHING THE WINDOW
This is the worst and uneducated option to do. You need to know that the damages that are caused by this action won’t be covered by your car’s insurance. You will have an extra cost for repairs comparing with calling a locksmith.

NOT CALLING THE LOCKSMITH
What are you supposed to do outside your car, doing nothing, not even smashing the car window, but you’re not willing to call locksmith? That is even worse than smashing the window.

After reading this, you will see that calling a locksmith is the most important thing to do when you are locked out of the car. It is the best option among the other that are not too wised options. Pause, take a breath, and do not panic. A car locksmith can help you to get back into your car immediately. So prepare yourself by saving a reputable locksmith number in your phone.
