Glorifying God in Art

Several Muslims display in their homes a Subhan Allah wall frame, in which ‘Subhan Allah’ (Arabic for ‘Glory be to Allah’) written or painted or printed or etched or engraved in calligraphic font. A popular new Islamic home décor item is vinyl wall sticker or decal. Many people look for Subhan Allah wall stickers online to display in their homes.

Listed here are some Hadith expounding the virtues of reciting Subhan Allah:

Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (RA) reported: We were with the Prophet (SAW) when he asked, “Is anyone of you unable to earn a 1000 good deeds?” One of those present asked: “How can one earn 1000 good deeds in a day?” He (SAW) replied, “By saying: Subhan Allah a 100 times, then 1000 good deeds will be recorded for him or 1000 sins will be blotted out from his record.” [Muslim]

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever says SubhanAllahwabiHamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him) a 100 times during the day, his sins are wiped away, even if they are like the foam of the sea.” [Sahih al-Bukhari)

Abu Dharr reported that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Shall I tell you the words that Allah loves the most?" I said: "Yes, tell me, O Messenger of Allah." He (SAW) said: "The words dearest to Allah are: SubhanAllahwabihamdihi (Glory be to Allah and Praise Him)”. [Muslim, Tirmidhi]

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “A palm tree is planted for the reciter of SubhanAllahi 'l-`adheemwabiHamdihi (Glory be to Allah, The Supreme, and Praise Him) in Paradise.” [Tirmidhi)

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Two words are light on the tongue, weigh heavily in the balance, they are loved by the Most Merciful One: SubhanAllahiwabiHamdihi, Subhan-Allahi 'l-`adheem (Glory be to Allah, and Praise, Glory be to Allah, the Supreme).”

[Bukhari, Muslim]

Abu Sa`id (RA) reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said, "Perform the enduring goods deeds more frequently." They asked, "What are these enduring good deeds?" The Prophet (SAW) replied: Takbir [Allahu Akbar], Tahlil [la ilahaillallah], Tasbih [Subhan'Allah], Alhamdulillah, and Lahawlawa la quwwataillabillah.”

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:“For me to say SubhanAllah, walHamdulilah, wa La illahailAllahu, waAllahu Akbar (Glory be to Allah, All Praise is for Allah, There is No God but Allah, Allah is the Greatest) is dearer to me and all that the sun rises upon (ie the whole world).” [Muslim]

Abd Allah ibn Mas'ud reported that the Prophet (SAW) said: "During the Night Journey I met Ibrahim (AS) who said to me: ‘O Muhammad, convey my greetings to your Community, and tell them that the Paradise is of pure land, its water is sweet, and its expanse is vast, spacious and even. And its seedlings are SubhanAllah, walhamdulilah, wa la ilahailAllah, waAllahu Akbar.’” [Tirmidhi]

It is thus no wonder many Muslims like to display in their homes a Subhan Allah wall frame,or Subhan Allah wall stickers.
