What Do You Think You Should Take: Gmat or Gre?

There are myriad of tests out there that you have to choose from for your future. Every test takes you to a specific destination. But sometimes a wrong test chosen with a different dream can trouble you. The point is you must know about the test and the consequences of that test.

You might have listened that many people who take the GRE are even taking the GMAT, or vice versa. Well, here you might be wondering which of this testeasier right isor which is better in case you plan to get your MBA. Of course, by now GMAT vs GRE might be popping up in your mind. In case you are wondering exactly what the GMAT is and how this test differs from the GRE, then this post might answer all your questions.

What do you need for MBA?

The GMAT is the standardized exam for Business school. Like the GRE, it is made up of a Verbal and Quantitative section. Different from the GRE, the two sections are linked to cater a compound score of 800. The GMAT cannot be used in place of the test GRE, so unless you are going to business school, there is no need to take the GMAT.

Unlike the GMAT, which only the individuals applying to business school sit for, the GRE is acknowledged by many attributed business schools (ever hear of Stanford or Harvard?). However it is not to say all the top business programs acknowledge a GRE score. It is better if you always check with the business program to find out which ones accept GRE scores.

Which test is easier: GMAT or GRE?

Actually, itdepends. That is, it relies on who is taking the test and their fortes. For the people having strong Quant skills the GRE math will appear to be easy. The GMAT math is surely more daunting. So in case you struggle with Quant the GMAT is going to seem absolutely difficult.

On the other hand if you struggle with the tones of vocabulary and style, the GRE verbal section could be absolutely difficult. That does not mean that the GMAT verbal is easier. But the Sentence Corrections segment is more of the discipline of grammar, and the people having logical minds inclined to be more adept at swiftly sifting through a mess of words to find grammatical errors. The GRE Text Completions and that of Sentence Equivalence questions, by contrast, are measuring the art of usage of words, a skill most humanities majors have been improving for years.

For business school applicants, you have to make sure that your program acknowledges the GRE. Incase so, see which of these test better shows off your strengths. In case you are not sure, take a (free) official GRE practice exam and an official GMAT exam. You can even compare the GMAT scores of MBA programs with the achieved score. For the GRE, you can make use of average GRE test scores.

Conclusion

Thus, it would not be wrong to state that GMAT vs GRE are just a concept. Both the tests are prestigious and can land you in the right places if you take them tactfully.
