Technology Trends are Evolving at a Rapid Pace

Author: Mario Petkovski

In the olden days, imagination made everybody think that in the first decade of the 21st century we will have flying cars, and yet it didn’t happen. However, in this day and age, technology develops much faster, and it picked up such a rapid pace that is hard for companies to keep up.

Major companies spend millions on developing new technologies that never reach the light of the day. In just 20 years technology changed so much. In the past, it was very hard to have a basic conversation on the phone and required setting up a cable line, but now we all talk internationally every day as standard. Today, when we use the technology we forget how much it is changed, maybe it is because everyone is facing the future, not the past.

We like to highlight some of the most popular technology trends and find out what can we expect from the future.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Some of the biggest companies in the world are getting into this technology, just for its benefits and a wide range of capabilities. Artificial intelligence means that we will get automatization in the future, everyday jobs that can be done by machines. AI received a lot of buzz in recent years, but we know that it exists almost 63 years. We use this technology in our everyday lives, from navigation to smart personal home assistants (Alexa).

This tech is much more capable than that when we talk about AI we talk about global artificial intelligence on a massive scale. Automatization sounds scary because all of the workforces that will be replaced with robots will be left with no jobs. Experts estimate that automation will eliminate 73 million jobs by 2030, but they also say that AI will create jobs too with the software coding, designing and maintaining the machines. This technology will be helpful in hospitals and traffic making more stable and precise operations.

Blockchain Security

This technology offers us the safety of our prized possessions. Although many people think that Blockchain is related with cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, it’s not, this technology will allow you to only add files to the safe zone, and you cannot change them or erase them.

The system is secure and has a wide range of benefits like storing your medical history, protecting art, government secrets and so on. Blockchain is becoming more popular day by day, and that is why every hi-end company is looking for developers for this technology with an average yearly salary of $135,000.

Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)

Both these technologies have been around for quite a while, but they were out of reach for everyday people. They were used for military training, pilot training, and medical operations. Nowadays you can use this technology for many daily things.
Virtual Reality (VR) surrounds the user in a different environment while Augment Reality (AR) enrichens the user’s reality. Gaming is also popular with this technology, allowing the user to experience the game even more, like Pokemon Go or Beat Saber.

Both these technologies have limitless potential and can be used for training doctors with simulating operations, entertainment, education, and even rehabilitation after injury. Even in sports, like soccer, tennis and horse racing, they are becoming an important tool, allowing a much more personal experience for fans.

The demand for employees around the biggest companies like Samsung and Google that have VR knowledge will increase day by day. So if you want to build a stable carrier out of it you should start learning this technology, it only requires basic programming skills and a forward-thinking mindset.

Internet of Things (IoT)

This sounds like a movie that you would want to watch, but the Internet of Things (IoT is the future). Nowadays every device has built-in WiFi so it can connect to the internet and to other devices too. IoT is making devices communicate to one another, making life simpler.

For example, if your Tesla car is parked outside your house, and you are at work, at the same time the postman is coming to deliver a package to you, you can see him on the camera that is mounted on your house. They will remotely open the door of the car from your office, and tell him to put the package there.

You can turn on air-conditioning at home, if you forgot your oven turned on, you can turn it off remotely and so on. This technology is advancing every day, and companies are trying to make devices easier to sync with each other. IoT has limitless possibilities and can be used for many things, the only limit will be our imagination.

Technologies are evolving around us, and it is exciting to be in that process of development. They have huge potential, and only time will tell what will the future bring to us. It is good to know that all this new stuff is suffering from one thing, the shortage of skilled workers. So if you want to make the world a better place, you should start to learn them.
