Different Types of Kitchen SinksWhen there is a kitchen in the house, there are a few things that are essential there. One among them is the kitchen sink. There are various kinds of kitchen sinks that are available in the market these days and one needs to zero down on a type depending on what kind of a kitchen they have and what type of a sink they need.

Though steel kitchen sinksare very common when it comes to sink uses, but there are other varieties as well which one can consider. Here are some ideas:

Farmhouse Sink

This one is also known as the apron sink and it is mainly extended over the edge of the counter. They are mainly use in farm house style kitchens (as the name suggests) and they can be of single bowl design or a double bowl design. If one has a rustic interior design in the kitchen, then these sinks can be perfectly fitted there. They are a bit expensive and also difficult to install because one has to cut a portion of the kitchen counter.

Under mount Sink

They can be easily installed directly under the counter. This sink is versatile and it matches with most of the kitchen styles. They look sleek and they can be cleaned up easily. But these sinks are heavy weight and so cast iron and fire clay kind of installations might not work here.

Stainless steel Sink

Steel sinks are very common and they are not only light but very easy to install. As they are very much functional, that is why it is a very popular item when it comes to kitchen sinks. They mostly come with thinner gauge and that is why they are lighter and the lighter sinks are always on the expensive end when it comes to pocket pinch. They have a good stain and heat resistance but they can dent easily.

Bar Sink

They are mainly installed in the home wet bar and they are shallower and smaller in comparison to the regular and average kitchen sinks. They mostly have single bowl designs and they are mostly used for drink making and other convenient clean ups. This can be perfectly installed in a patio or a terrace.

Corner Sink

They are the double basin sinks and it can be installed in the corner of the counter. Here, the 2 basins are set apart from each other and they have a very unique design. But these sinks are expensive and they are a bit difficult to install.

Granite Composite Sink

They are constructed by attaching crushed granite together with filler that can hold it together. These sinks are very durable and they are stain resistant. It also has a very modern and cutting edge style and it also has a sound absorbing effect due to its density. But one needs an extra support to install it because they are heavy in nature.

One can always go for stainless steel kitchen sinks because they are a popular variety and easy to use.
