Science and Business: Mutually Beneficial

Jamison Hutton1017 22-Feb-2019

Both business and science are crucial to the advancement of any modern society. Aside from their importance to the societal advancement, both are directly correlated in that they are mutually beneficial. Scientific advancement is crucial to many of the great technological advances the world has seen. Benefactor to business growth, it too has fed off the subsequent advances in the business world. Without science, for example, there would be no smartphones. Without the technology that helps smartphones work, businesses could not reach the furthest regions of the globe. Both business as a whole and technology depend upon parts working in concert to achieve a goal, people and parts working together through trial and error until a smoother running process is achieved.

Scientific Method

Science, by design, improves upon its own process. In making itself more efficient, it ensures the best possible results through repetition so mistakes are less likely on the factory floor or out in the field. Likewise, If a business is run efficiently, then it will experience the best possible results.

Through the needs of society as a whole, we have been the beneficiaries of leaps and bounds in technological advancement previously thought only to be in the realm of science fiction. The scientific method is specifically geared toward conducting experiments that yield ideal results, removing unnecessary steps toward a desired outcome. Essentially, like efficiency, scientific method helps preserve resources and utilize them to their fullest potential.Efficiency is the streamlining of resources to achieve an end result.

Efficiency

Efficiency is key to running any business, large or small. The more moving pieces you have necessitates more streamlined actions and moving pieces. Consequently, the technology on which you rely to streamline your actions and moving pieces (especially projections for future actions) needs to run smoothly. Most businesses utilize some form of technology for their day-to-day functions, and to make the best of one’s resources and/or assets. They require services that assist in tracking performance, collecting, and analyzing metrics (i.e., cloud maintenance, search engine optimization, application development). Without the means by which to analyze data, the business simply could not reap the full benefits of the technology. Companies from Siemens to Precision XYZ provide services that help make sense out of data received. Boiled down, efficiency is a result of trial and error. Directly related to business efficiency is security, or loss prevention and energy use.

Loss and damage to property means that your assets are not producing. If you can secure your assets, you can protect against theft and help ensure their maintenance. Securing assets through the use of cameras and alarm systems is one way a business can keep its assets in working order, ensuring the business’s efficient operation.

Like any technological resource, energy use requires monitoring and analysis. It is easy to see how energy could be seen as an asset. Without energy, technology today could not function. Ideally, a business wants to utilize no more energy than it produces and protect against its loss. Calibration and monitoring energy intake and output helps a company get as close to efficient energy use as possible.

Modern society is dependent upon the advancement of science and business. Science improves business which in turn helps improve science. Business and scientific advances are both a part of a constantly rotating and growing circle of information and innovations. Technology’s implementation in the business world has helped develop various other innovations, and inspired other developments. Aside from their importance to the advancement of society, business and science are mutually beneficial. Scientific advancement is crucial to many of the great technological advances the world has seen. Benefactor to business growth, science has reaped its benefits, building upon them. Business and science depend upon parts working efficiently toward one goal. Science and business will continue to improve upon one another, helping to advance society.
