In the world of food, where food items come and go, bubble tea has been standing still. It has gone through various twists during the last thirty years without any change in its popularity. If you wish to enjoy the delicious boba tea in Tampa, you can visit a nearby restaurant.

Bubble tea originated in Taiwan and spread in neighboring countries like Japan, South Korea, China, and the rest of the world, including the U.S., during the mid-1990s.

During the last two decades, bubble tea’s popularity has increased tremendously in the U.S. There are more than 800 shops in the U.S. only. Also, you can enjoy bubble tea in Tempa and over 30 countries of the world.

Boba tea in Tempa is so famous and trending that it gets filled in before you go and place your order. Let’s know some other factors related to this drink.

What is bubble tea?

Bubble tea is one of the famous names of this beverage. It is also known as boba tea, milk tea, pearl tea, boba nai cha, foam milk tea, tapioca tea, and many others.

This beverage got its name from the frothy bubble developed while shaking the drink to mix tea, milk, and flavorings. Later on, people started relating this name to the bubble-like tapioca pearls in the bottom of the drink.

The tapioca pearls were the original ‘boba.’ Therefore, both bubble tea and boba tea are interchangeable and refer to the same beverage.

Origin of Bubble tea

There are two stories about the origin of bubble tea.

According to the first story, bubble tea originated from a teahouse in Tainan, Taiwan, in 1986. A teahouse owner Tu Tsong-he saw white tapioca balls in the market and experimented with them. He added them to his products and developed a new item now known as ‘pearl tea.’

The second story claims that the Chun Shui Tang tearoom in Taiwan invented this beverage. Japanese cold coffee inspired the tearoom to introduce cold tea in its menu. One day, one of the store managers served the cold tea with tapioca balls as an experiment, and it quickly became popular.

Bubble tea flavors

Bubble tea has gone through several changes since its popularity. Still, the traditional bubble tea has preserved its original flavors in Taiwan and surrounding areas and contains oolong, black or green tea.

The base flavors of bubble tea include Thai or Chai Tea, while other flavorings are added in the form of pulp, powder, or syrup. Its fruit variant includes mango or mango and pineapple.

Bubble tea and health

Although boba tea in Tempa does not have many health benefits, its calories and carbohydrates can boost energy levels.

Bubble tea contains high levels of sugar, which can cause long-term medical conditions like diabetes and obesity. So, avoid excess intake of boba tea.
