Agra is a northern city on the banks of the Yamuna river in Uttar Pradesh, India. Agra is one of the most-visited tourist places because of its heritage sites like- Agra Fort, Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri, Jama masjid, etc. This city exposes the heritage of India in one place. There are various top things to do in agra.

 1. Taj mahal:-

Taj mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world and also listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. It is made by shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz who died while giving birth to his 14th child. Taj Mahal is one of the finest structures made by Mughals. Taj mahal represents the Indian, Persian and Islamic styles of architecture. Taj Mahal took 21 years to be constructed with over 20,000 laborers working night and day. Taj mahal is one of the Agra Famous places not only in agra it is also famous in across the globe.

4. Jahangir Mahal:-

Earlier this palace is served as the main palace for Akbar’s Rajput wives and Later it becomes the residence of Jahangir’s wife, Nur Jahan. The main attractions of this palace are a huge monolithic bowl carved out of stone which was earlier used for storing rose water. It showcases Gujrat, Malwa and Rajasthan architectural style. 5. Jama masjid:-

The outer structure of this Palace is built by red sandstone with the addition of mezzanine floors at the corners by the Mughals. The architecture of this tomb represents the Islamic and Hindu styles. This tomb gained popularity during the time of Akbar and Jahangir.

7. Fatehpur Sikri:-

Fatehpur Sikri is built by red sandstone and it is also known as “Sikri sandstone”. It is built by Akbar for sheik Salim Chisti when his prediction of Akbar’s son Jahangir came true. 8. Taj Museum:-

The taj museum has made in 2 floors which has 21 antiques including- Mughal miniature, paintings, manuscripts, inscription samples and royal. Other than this You can also see arms, utensils, marble pillars on display in the museum. Visiting here is one of the best things to do in agra.

9. Chini ka Rauza:-

Chini ka Rauza is a tomb of a Persian poet named Afzal khan who was also a minister in the court of Shah Jahan. This is the first building in India that is decorated with tile’s work. It’s a brown rectangular building. Inside the tomb, it is decorated with the inscription of the Quran.
