Facts About pH In Pregnancy Along With Your Diet

The pH level in the body is an important thing, and if you are pregnant you should maintain it. It’s said that your diet can make up for this level of pH in pregnancy, but it can be the opposite sometimes. Here comes the matter of alkaline diet.

This very alkaline diet is far from any scientific thing, but it prevents the doses of nutrients in the body. The deficiency of pH level can cause many problems infertility, complications in pregnancy, and so on. Also, these complications can turn into heartburn, vomiting and swelling along with it. So to maintain the pH levels in pregnancy, you have to avoid the food that increases the amount of acid in your system. Here we will cover the facts about the same for your convenience.

1. Fetus Changes by pH Imbalance

The changes level of pH can cause harm to the fetus in every way. First of all infertility is the barrier, and second there if you are pregnant there will be other complications. Thus you are taking the alkaline-based diet. However, if you drink alkaline based water your pH level won’t change that much but if you consume food like bicarbonate or antacid that is highly enriched with alkaline. Foods that have this ingredient in them will lower the level of acidity in your body and increase the level of pH. However, this change will come with a price and that is heartburn, and the acidity will go straight into the esophagus.

2. Alkaline Diet

So if you are all inclined to take up an alkaline diet, because your fetus will be uncomfortable with the imbalance of pH level in your body, it’s far from rational. Our body is made in a way that it normally takes care of the pH level. It’s a natural thing if you feel acidity rising in your system for some exercise or taking a walk on high altitude, it can decrease the level of pH to 7.4. If there is a disease it can have a greater impact. Even our digestion process has an impact on the pH level, which can cause diarrhea and vomiting. Yet it will helpless and will be bad for your health if you take non-acidity forming foods during pregnancy.

3. Ways to Control pH Level in the Body

If you must know that the body has its own power to resist the changes of the pH level. Because there are some chemical buffers that include an acid system like bicarbonate-carbonic, buffers from hemoglobin and so on. This bicarbonate-carbonic reacts with the carbon dioxide in the blood and helps with the respiratory system, thus you can breathe properly. If the level of PH drops then the rate of your breathing will increase, and it will make you inhale carbon dioxide more.

For this reason, if you maintain your exercise on regular basis, your body will produce lactic acid, and the body will be able to retain the pH level. So if you are still thinking about the alkaline diet, you should refrain from it, and let your body maintain the pH level by itself.
