Spit roast is a very delicious cooked piece of meat often done on a spit. Spit roast is a technique employed by chefs and cooks to roast an animal such as a big rodent or pig. It is done over a fire where the chef puts a metal or wooden rod through the animal and uses two sticks at the other ends to make the animal suspended over the fire. How Do You Prepare Your Spit roast?

• Materials needed: Get a carving knife, a scallop gripper (a long one is better), a bowl, a smaller knife, shears and maybe a juice squeezer.

• Ingredients include 6-8 lemons, 1 pound of fine sea salt, 1 pint of cooking oil (not olive oil), 1 pound of course sea salt and 1 pint of honey that can be applied on the most surface.

Preparation of the Spit Roast:

1. Mount your hog on the spit and ensure it is properly done as to have an evenly cooked roast.

2. Have your clamps around the spine of the roast so that you can easily grip and adjust its position on the spit.

3. In the end, your roast should be well balanced on the spit and allowed to remain even when the spit is adjusted.

4. You can add other flavours to spice it up. You can rub salt on the surface also or choose to paint the hog with spice or honey.

5. To have a hog properly and well done, you must ensure your spit roast spends enough time on fire or else you will have something else outside what you desire.

6. After about 5-7 hours on the spit, you can carve your roast and finish it off by missing honey with the paint.

7. Then, your spit roast can be served.
