Being a gamer isn’t easy, and you have to be able to notice every detail, a single miss could lead to the end of your session. To achieve this, you have to use a proper headphone which helps you in getting all the details clear and balanced. No matter its a gunshot, grenade, a chopper flying or an enemy approaching you don’t want to miss anything. So what should you look for while buying the headset? These are some of the main things to consider, which could result in better outcomes for you.

Platform

The first thing you need to consider is what is the platform where you are going to play games and then you should headphones designed, especially for that particular platform. If you are going with PC, then you have a wide range of headsets available in the market which are typically compatible with computers. However, if you are going for consoles such as PS4 or Xbox, etc., there are some specific earphones designed for particular ones. You can find some top recommendations here.

Wired or Wireless

Inevitably this is never ending topic as both have their features, but for gaming, I’d go with wired headsets. Why? Well, wired connections are not prone to outside interference, and latency is negligible. Moreover, noise isolation or cancellation is considered a lot better with wired versions. Additionally, you don’t have to worry about charging the battery in the mid of gameplay or at any critical stage. Lastly, wired earphones are considered cheaper than the wireless of the same capabilities. On the other hand, you don’t have to worry about cord breakage or limitations with wireless ones. So it’s your choice of what you like and what you want to go for at the end.

Comfort & Durability

Furthermore, another thing which you surely want to consider is durability and comfort level the headset has to offer. If you are playing games for a more extended period, you don’t want to encounter fatigue at the end of the session or end up getting sweat. So the headphones should offer sufficient comfort level with enough padding as well as excellent airflow resulting in better breathability for you.

The final part is the price. It depends on your budget how much you want to spend for your headset but if you are spending enough on the platform, accessories then you shouldn’t compromise on the sound as its one of the most critical aspect of gaming as well.
