GAC is a folder in windows directory to store the assemblies which are specifically designated to be shared by applications.
Following are the some of the important point related to GAC:
It accepts only strong names assembly.
We can store only .dll or .exe file.
It store in Windows\microsoft.net\assembly\GAC_MSIL (after 4th version of Dot.net framework)
For Installing the GAC we need to use Command Line Utility tool which is called as gacutil.exe.
Gacutil.exe also provides the facility to delete or check the name of the assemblies present in the GAC.
