# 'SMOKE CAPTURES THE DELHI' : NASA analysis on Delhi's pollution

**NASA** had shared the data on how farm fires lead to the highest levels of [air pollution](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301942/how-can-iot-reduce-air-pollution) in Delhi. the [capital city](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95522/indonesia-has-decided-to-change-its-capital-from-jakarta-to-which-new-capital-city) of India facing hazardous amounts of air pollution levels which leads to *challenges of the health and hygienic of the [national capital](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/52075/via-which-among-the-following-amendments-of-the-constitution-of-india-delhi-was-designated-as-national-capital-territory-nct).*

***According to the NASA blog***, these pictures of the city were taken on **November 11 with help of the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite(VIIRS)**.

**Pawan Gupta, a NASA scientist** had said that 'observe the scale of smoke on November 11 and the demography, I could see an approximation data which explain that *at least 22 [million people](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/88141/modi-is-a-hope-for-140-million-people) were [getting affected](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/86308/severity-of-delhi-s-air-quality-and-people-lives-getting-affected) by smoke only on November 11”*

if the farm fires further continue it would affect northern Pakistan & more [pollution in India](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/252/air-pollution-choking-many-cities) also.

As per the records System of **Air Quality & Weather Forecasting & Research (SAFAR)** explains that the Quality of air in Delhi still settles in the 'very poor' group consecutively for 6 days. The air quality index decreased its value from **362 to 332 in a couple of days**. As per the SAFAR reports, Delhi's AQI stands constants for the future 3 days.

*An Air Quotient Index lies between **zero** and **50** is considered to be '**good'**, **51** and **100** are considered to be **'satisfactory',** **101** and **200** are considered to be '**moderate**', **201** and **300** are considered to be '**poor',** **301** and **400** are considered to be '**very poor**, and **401** and **500** are considered to be **'severe'** categories.*

till November 21, there is a regulation on the travel of trucks except trucks which carry the essential needs.
