# This is a new start for Apple sustainability.

Self Service that is what it sounds like DIY repair [capabilities](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/490/explain-the-concepts-and-capabilities-of-assembly-in-dot-net) they are started with [iPhone 12](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96885/why-is-the-iphone-12-vs-google-pixel-5-2020-s-big-battle) and 13 initially and adding more products over time.

Initially the [Self Service Program](https://support.apple.com/self-servicing-account-program) will focus on the generally used [modules](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/266/what-is-the-use-of-http-modules) like battery ,camera, display and soon to be followed by other modules as well.

This program originally launched in US in 2019 and expand to approximate thousand of countries throughout 2022 also include the Mac Computers. Currently Apple has over 5,000 [Apple Authorized Service Providers (AASPs)](https://locate.apple.com/in/en/) and it also started [independent](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12905/fynsis-announce-suitecrm-customer-portal-independent-client-service-platform) repair program in which 2,800 technician have access to parts, tools and manual.

Apple said that they will offer more than 200 individual parts and tools to new apple stores for the repairs of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.

'Creating greater access to Apple genuine parts gives our [customers](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13008/how-does-a-customer-portal-enhance-the-experience-of-customers) even more choice if a repair is needed,' said Jeff William.
