# Android 12.1 on the way before Android 13

In its recent report, [Google](https://www.google.com/) made some [clarification](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/1682/regex-ismatch-clarification-using-c-sharp) about the next version of [Android](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_(operating_system)) that is going to be on the roll. As the techies expected, it is not going to be Android 13. Instead, **Android 12** itself may have some [improvements](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/306937/claude-4-explained-features-improvements-and-use-cases) in the form of **Android 12.1.** This new version of Android is said to be an [improvement](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32074/which-state-introduces-land-improvement-schemes-act-bill-to-empower-farmers-in-state) over the earlier Android 12. It would have some updates, also known as “point updates”. Since 2017, Google is going to launch a second point update in its series of Android.

According to the Android [developers](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12875/blunders-you-must-avoid-while-hiring-java-developers-to-get-the-best-fulfilling-your-needs), the *AOSP Gerrit (H/T XDA Recognized [Developer](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/157260/variation-between-web-designer-and-web-developer) luca020400)* suggests API level 32 corresponds to Android 12 “sc-v2” and not Android 13 “T.” Based on these reports we may contain the information that Android 12.1 is a revision or an improvement to the Android 12.

#### It will improve:

- The way an OS handles a large & foldable screen.
- They come with better UI for the screen,
- [lock screen](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/99793/how-can-you-customize-the-appearance-and-behavior-of-the-lock-screen-on-an-iphone) for the horizontal space
- Taskbar for multi-usability
- The main UI is focused on the horizontal space
- New shortcut to support split-screen running the apps.
- In the Settings app, menu items are to be displayed on the left, while its submenus are displayed on the right half of the screen.
- Tweak the time consumed for activating the [Google Assistant](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12751/google-assistant)
- Color [extensions](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12362/is-ajax-cart-extensions-necessary-for-e-commerce-websites) for non-Google manufacturers to match their colors to the lock screen.

We are about to witness whether these developments are 100% sure or not, depending on Google’s release. The foldable phone is quite a surety on Google’s list.
