Seems, like the [tech](https://www.mindstick.com/services/technologies) giant, [Microsoft](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12301/microsoft-is-trying-to-kill-passwords) is aware of the problem of remembering too many [passwords](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301672/how-time-based-one-time-passwords-work). That’s why it has [finally taken](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/81422/banning-chinese-apps-a-delayed-step-finally-taken-for-the-best) this problem into account and devised a solution for it. The [employees](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44463/business-to-business-vat-reclaiming-a-guide-for-your-employees) were working from home, thus, hackers had the chance to infiltrate the company’s [security systems](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102046/how-can-technology-improve-home-security-systems). Passwords are the easiest to be compromised and Microsoft saw many security breaches because of this. The passwords are put for sale on the dark web, where they are used to hack further services after purchasing. Some people have the tendency to keep the same/similar passwords for all accounts which takes the hacker an easy guess! Thus, all the systems and services are breached. According to Microsoft, 579 [password attacks](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/107362/how-to-prevent-password-attacks-in-it) occur every second. #### Other alternatives for passwords: - The users can sign in through Microsoft’s authenticator app- produces a unique number login code - They can sign in through [Windows Hello](https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/learn-about-windows-hello-and-set-it-up-dae28983-8242-bb2a-d3d1-87c9d265a5f0)- through [facial recognition](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/303222/discover-the-upcoming-trends-in-facial-recognition-technology), fingerprint, or unique pin. - Through an external security key like a USB with the login info already stored in it. - By registering a phone number for [verification](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/34736/what-is-difference-between-validation-and-verification) code. Microsoft has stood out as an extraordinary and unique example of creating a “**passwordless future**”.
