# Reuters' X Account Restored in India Following Government Intervention

An official [Twitter](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/332583/which-one-is-better-twitter-paid-verification-or-meta-verified) account of Reuters has been restored with suspension in [India](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/305265/the-role-of-artificial-intelligence-in-the-development-of-india). It was restored after direct government [involvement](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87552/what-happened-in-the-bangladesh-crisis-and-cia-involvement) in India. The account itself was limited through a humble obedience request that was conducted by [X](https://www.mindstick.com/news/4621/ai-will-work-on-x-platform-posts-what-will-be-the-impact-on-human-fact-checkers). Authoritative officers contacted the site with an aim of addressing the situation and the account of Reuters was reinstated. Such a move will make it so that Indian users will continue accessing the reporting of Reuters.

## Highlights:

- Reuters' primary X account was temporarily withheld in India.
- The restriction stemmed from a [legal](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/323196/global-legal-entity-management) compliance request.
- The [Indian government](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/84685/why-indian-government-should-ban-madarsa-to-trained-jihadis) directly intervened to address the situation.
- [Engagement](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/54969/how-technology-is-helping-employee-engagement) occurred between government officials and X representatives.
- The account access was subsequently restored.

This withdrawal of the Reuters-account was done by X under the provision of legal request by the Indian authorities. The actual matter that caused the action is not released, according to the usual compliance measures. The Reuters reinstatement process started when the government started to interact with the platform.

In their turn, Indian government sources concurred that they had held direct talks with X to avert the withholding. The authorities explained the surrounding circumstances of the legal appeal which also led to the reinstatement of the account. The role used in this intervention by the government (as a mediator of such actions) to restore the Reuters account demands much attention.

The decision removes X as an option of Indian users that has Reuters on it. The case was solved using the existing channels through which two issues of legal compliance on [online platforms](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/114438/how-can-collaborative-online-platforms-boost-academic-engagement-among-students-in-higher-ed) are addressed. The Reuters account recovery proves that such schemes of [resolution](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12502/looking-for-an-mba-degree-we-guide-you-with-the-perfect-resolution) work.
