Under the ban, however, the two companies could not share user data for [advertising](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13080/wikipedia-the-most-powerful-advertising-platform-of-the-digital-age) reasons. The CCI, however, rejected the challenge from Meta, saying that the order only pertains to WhatsApp's [specific business](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/114894/what-key-factors-should-guide-software-selection-for-a-specific-business-need) model, which it can't change without harming its functionality. Meta also took a swipe at the CCI for not having 'technical expertise' to understand the ramifications of the order issued by it. With its arguments, Meta has convinced the [National Company](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38156/which-company-s-merger-with-airtel-was-approved-by-the-national-company-law-tribunal) Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) that [enforcement](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/106122/what-is-the-role-of-the-drug-enforcement-administration) of the ban should be put on hold, while something continues to be heard on Meta's challenge to the antitrust verdict.
