“**Many have questioned: Is that a rainbow on Mars? No. Rainbows aren't apparent here. Rainbows are developed by light indicated off of spherical water droplets, but there isn't sufficient water here to condense, and it’s too raw for liquid water in the climate. This arc is a lens outburst**,” NASA stated in a tweet.
