# WhatsApp Users on iPhone May Lose Ability to Screenshot Profile Photos Soon

Following a big UI revamp and the [introduction](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13122/an-introduction-to-network-cables) of [AI features](https://www.mindstick.com/news/3858/microsoft-will-unveil-new-windows-and-cloud-ai-features-in-may), Meta continues to test new features on WhatsApp, and the business is presently testing a feature that stops [iPhone users](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/110685/how-to-proportion-area-on-google-maps-with-iphone-users-with-out-app-download) from capturing [screenshots](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2115/twitter-encourages-users-to-share-tweets-rather-than-copy-links-from-screenshots) of a user's [profile photo](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/110233/how-to-exchange-twitch-profile-photo-on-iphone) to further safeguard its [customers](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13008/how-does-a-customer-portal-enhance-the-experience-of-customers)' privacy.

According to WABetaInfo, this [functionality](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/136/using-watermark-functionality-in-textbox-by-jquery) is already present in the newest WhatsApp beta for iOS (number 24.10.10.70), which can be loaded using the TestFlight app. This functionality is already available on the Android platform, where when a user attempts to snap a photo of their [profile image](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/110682/how-to-trade-twitch-profile-image-on-android-cellphone-browser), it reads, "This app does not allow screenshots."

When an iPhone user attempts to take a screenshot of the profile image, WhatsApp will display **"Screenshot capture blocked" and "To protect everyone's privacy on WhatsApp**, this screenshot has been blocked."

[WhatsApp](https://www.mindstick.com/news/3900/whatsapp-gets-darker-dark-mode) also allows users to choose who can and cannot see their profile pictures, [as well as](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/2481/can-you-write-a-java-class-that-could-be-used-both-as-an-applet-as-well-as-an-application) conceal them from unknown numbers. The next upgrade would allow users to see a public profile image on WhatsApp but restrict them from taking a copy of it.

This functionality will be activated by default and cannot be removed, and it is scheduled to be made accessible to stable users in the next few weeks.
