# OpenAI Allows Instant Use of ChatGPT and No Login Required

[OpenAI](https://www.mindstick.com/news/3775/new-openai-s-video-generator-sora-is-on-the-internet-what-it-is) will soon allow users to use its **AI chatbot, ChatGPT**, for free, *even if they don't have an account.* Since ChatGPT's launch in late 2022, users have had to sign up for the platform to use the [generative AI](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/4525/10-benefits-of-generative-ai) chatbot. Some of OpenAI's higher-end products, including **GPT-4 Turbo and DALL-E 3**, now need a subscription.

While the [trial version](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/23076/android-how-to-make-trial-version-of-android-app) of [ChatGPT](https://www.mindstick.com/news/3822/chatgpt-s-latest-features-when-start-browsing-with-bing) based on **GPT-3.5** is capable of being used without an account, users must pay money and register an OpenAI account to utilize the more powerful version of the chatbot based on GPT-4 Turbo. GPT-3.5, in instance, is significantly more likely to make mistakes or offer incorrect information than its higher-end counterpart.

Users must also register an account in order to save and check their [chat history](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32493/how-do-i-move-chat-history-to-my-new-phone), exchange messages, and use advanced features like voice conversations and custom instructions. The Sam Altman-led company is also permitting some further 'content controls' for unregistered users, such as rejecting requests for a 'wider range of categories'.

ChatGPT has become the most popular [artificial intelligence](https://www.mindstick.com/services/artificial-intelligence) provider in the world, with nearly 1.6 billion visits in February, in line with SimilarWeb facts.

However, ChatGPT is below competition from *Google's Gemini and Amazon-backed Anthropic*, both of which have lately unveiled AI models able to match with OpenAI's brand new technologies. With the launch of the new login-free expertise, OpenAI may be hoping to increase visitors to its website.
