# Google expands Car Crash Detection to Pixel devices in India

[Google](https://www.mindstick.com/category/article/google) is expanding its Pixel Car Crash [Detection](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/23143/long-press-detection-in-andriod) feature to five more countries, including India. The feature, which was first launched in the US in 2019, uses the phone's [location](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/11636/relocating-business-or-office-to-another-location), [motion sensors](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/157234/all-about-your-wireless-motion-sensor), and nearby sounds to detect car crashes and automatically alert [emergency services](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/63558/a-brief-outline-of-emergency-locksmith-services).

- **Pixel Car Crash Detection is now available in India, Austria, Belgium, Portugal, and Switzerland.**
- **The feature is only supported on Pixel 4a and later devices with a SIM card.**
- **To set up Car Crash Detection, go to the Personal Safety app > [Features](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12993/5-advanced-features-for-your-odoo-ecommerce-theme) > Car crash detection > Set up.**

In the event of a car crash, Pixel phones will vibrate, sound an alarm, and ask if the [user needs](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/22969/an-android-application-needs-to-access-device-data-e-g-sms-messages-camera-etc-at-what-stage-user-needs-to-grant-the-permissions) help. If the user confirms or does not respond, the phone will attempt to **contact 112**, the **pan-India emergency** services number, with the user's location and car crash data.\
It is important to note that **Pixel Car Crash** Detection may not detect all car crashes, and high-impact [activities](https://www.mindstick.com/interview/2589/describe-android-activities-in-brief) such as roller coaster rides could also trigger the feature. Pixel phones must also be [connected](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12941/link-building-and-search-engine-rankings-how-are-they-connected) to a stable [mobile network](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1740/1000-mobile-networks-towers-to-be-installed-in-maoist-affected-areas-of-andhra-pradesh) to successfully alert emergency services.
