# Gmail for Android is getting emoji reactions, but iPhone users will have to wait.

Google is introducing a feature allowing Gmail users to respond to emails using a single emoji on iOS and [Android](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13046/10-reasons-why-i-prefer-android-vs-iphone-ios) phones. The feature aims to allow users to express themselves and quickly respond. [Starting](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/12024/things-you-need-to-know-when-starting-your-own-business) on October 3, emoji reactions in Gmail will be gradually available for iOS and the web over the next few months.

## How to add emoji

The "Add emoji reaction" button at the bottom of an email allows users to select from five default emojis. This button is located next to the three-dot menu and appears in a reaction bar below **the message.**

## How to find out who submitted an emoji in a group message

Emojis can be viewed by touching and holding them, and they can be removed from the user's [account](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/33699/how-tech-is-disrupting-the-accounting-world) through the Under Send feature, which takes 5 to [30 seconds](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/35057/who-hold-the-national-record-in-100m-sprint-running-at-10-30-seconds).

## Emoji [Removal](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13061/laser-tattoo-removal)

To undo an emoji reaction, tap "Undo" in the [notification](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/205/property-notification-in-c-sharp) at the bottom of your message, adjusting the "Undo Send" period on [your computer](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13023/choosing-the-best-power-cord-for-your-computer-a-layman-s-guide).

**What if the recipient is using an [older version](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94514/how-can-i-continue-using-an-older-version-of-whatsapp-without-updating-it) of the Gmail client, and so on?**

Emoji reactions may not work if the recipient doesn't have a Gmail address, uses an older version of Gmail, sets Conversation view off, uses a third-party email solution, or uses a work or school account. Other conditions that may prevent emoji reactions from working include being in BCC, sending more than 20 reactions to the same message, using client-side [encryption](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/1620/encryption-and-decryption-in-asp-dot-net), or having a custom reply-to address.
