US Senator Gary Peters Senator Mike Barun and James Lankford, all would require US government agencies to tell people when the agency is **using AI** to interact with them. This bill also would be required the agency to create a way for people to appeal any decision made by AI. “The [federal government](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/41815/what-2-things-did-the-federal-government-do-to-encourage-railroad-construction) needs to be proactive and transparent with AI utilization and ensure that decisions are not being made without humans in the driver’s seat,” Braun said in a statement. “We can not afford to lose our [competitive edge](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/36639/what-is-competitive-edge-in-sports) in strategic technologies like semiconductors, [quantum computing](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12712/what-are-the-potential-dangers-of-quantum-computing), and artificial intelligence to competitors like China,” said the US lawmaker Bennet.
