Google describes Bard as an experiment in collaborative [generative AI](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/4525/10-benefits-of-generative-ai), a method that creates material rather than just recognising it. \ In the technology sector, there has been a rush to make AI more approachable since the release of ChatGPT, a chatbot from Microsoft-backed company OpenAI, last year. The objective is to alter people's behaviour in order to attract customers. \ Only last week, two days apart, Google and Microsoft each made a flurry of AI-related announcements. The companies are incorporating draft-writing technology into their word processors and other collaborative products in addition to offering tools for [web developers](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/11763/five-features-of-top-python-frameworks-for-web-developers-in-2018-that-make-everyone-love-it) to build their own AI-based services. \ Senior product director Jack Krawczyk denied that [competition](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23460/5-ways-you-can-use-competition-to-your-benefit) was a role in Bard's adoption, saying that Google was more concerned with the needs of its users. Both internal and external testers have sought him out to "raise their [productivity](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23599/how-gadgets-can-help-boost-your-productivity), accelerate their ideas, and really fuel their curiosity," according to Bard. \ Mr Krawczyk offered Reuters a tour of the website bard.google.com and showed how, in contrast to ChatGPT, which types down replies word by word, the machine creates text blocks quickly. \ Users of Bard could select from three different "draughts" of any given response, and there was a button that stated "Google it" if they wished to look up an answer online. \ Nonetheless, precision still presents a challenge. A Google pop-up notice that appeared during the presentation read, "Bard will not always get it right."
