\

A GSMArena article claims that when OnePlus announced the release of its most recent OnePlus 11 5G, it did not always inform media outlets about the device's IP [classification](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/11071/clustering-and-classification-with-mahout).

\

However, the magazine was able to secure a response from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer confirming that all markets for its most recent flagship model have an IP64 classification.

\

The report claims that the [**OnePlus**](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/12952/know-all-about-stunning-oneplus-6t-and-cover) 11 5G devices sold worldwide may not even have the IP64 classification, with devices in the US or [North America](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2142/beginning-in-2025-sony-honda-will-produce-high-end-evs-in-north-america) being an exception. The source explains that this could result from the company choosing to forego testing all devices to [save money](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3723/simple-ways-to-save-money).

\

The device's level of protection against water and dust is indicated by the two-digit number associated with its IP rating. The first figure represents the degree of protection against solid objects or dust the device's external body offers to its internal housing.

\

In contrast, the second digit represents the degree of protection against liquids or water.

\

Therefore, the OnePlus 11 5G smartphone is IP64 rated and has level 6 protection against solid particles and level 4 protection against liquid particles.

\

This implies that the OnePlus 11 5G is not guaranteed to guard against submersion in water, unlike certain less expensive smartphones like the [Samsung Galaxy](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/33631/how-can-i-start-remote-debugging-on-a-samsung-galaxy-tablet) A33 5G and the Google Pixel 6a, both priced below the Rs. 55,000 thresholds.

\

## The OnePlus 10 Pro gave IP68 certification.

\

It's extraordinary, considering the OnePlus 10 Pro had the same IP68 rating as the OnePlus 11 predecessor. To achieve this reduced pricing, OnePlus also removed [wireless charging](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/43781/future-of-wireless-charging), at least in the US. In Europe, phones are relatively pricey.

\

For most people, the IP64 grade will be enough and provide peace of mind.

\

At the company's Cloud 11 event a few days ago, OnePlus 11 was introduced. It has up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Additionally, UFS 4.0 flash storage is provided.

\

The device has a 5,000mAh battery inside and supports 100W (80W in the US) charging. Android 13 and OnePlus' OxygenOS 13 are pre-installed, and 5G is enabled. The bundle also includes a stylish camera setup with Hasselblad branding.
