# How to Send Your Face Back in Time Using MyHeritage's "AI Time Machine."

People are posting accurate AI-generated photographs of what they would have looked like across various [historical](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/audio/1201/a-historical-journey-of-kedarnath-temple) times in a current TikTok fad that has received over 30 million views. You are welcome to take part in the fun for nothing.

The images are produced by a '[**AI Time Machine'**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2089/artificial-intelligence-reduces-a-100-000-equation-quantum-physics-problem-to-only-four-equations) developed by the ancestry organisation MyHeritage. According to MyHeritage, the company created 44 million output photographs as of Monday, of which 3 million were downloaded for sharing.

The [website](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13110/why-copywriting-is-crucial-for-new-website-build) uses text-to-image [technology](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13005/the-functional-aspects-of-laser-technology) based on [stable diffusion](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/304589/best-10-ai-tools-for-image-creation-in-2024) to create a model from the various photos you upload, which it then uses to represent a person in various poses and [lighting](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39322/which-railway-zone-has-become-the-first-rail-zone-in-india-with-100-led-lighting-at-railway-stations) conditions. A **hyper-realistic image of what a person might have looked like during a particular time period is then produced by using the themes on the website to apply the appropriate conditions to the model**.

Images from the [20th century](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/48097/who-is-the-youngest-woman-player-of-the-20th-century-to-won-the-wimbledon-championship) can be found, such as a flapper from the 1920s or a starlet from the 1930s.

You only need to visit the MyHeritage website and click the 'Try it now for free' button to give it a try. When you get at this page, if you see a 'Try it now' option, it implies that the window for free renderings has passed and you must now pay $12 to have your images created.

There is, however, a workaround. Simply visit the page at various times [throughout the day](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/35882/can-i-drink-warm-water-throughout-the-day-to-lose-weight) and wait till the button says 'Try it now for free' once more if you really want to try this [**AI model**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1809/protein-known-to-science-is-finally-predicted-by-artificial-intelligence) but don't want to pay the money. To create the most accurate image possible, you will then be asked to submit 10 to 25 photos of yourself taken from various angles.

**Once the photos have been sent, it will take an additional 30 to 90 [minutes](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/23598/best-wedding-photographer-inspire-the-best-to-protect-your-valuable-minutes) to create the model, after which you will be notified via email.** You can choose the themes you want it to generate when you receive the email, and it will take one to two minutes to render the results. Watch out: while some photos will astound you, others will leave much to be desired.
