# Vikram-S, the country's first privately developed rocket, will launch on November 15.

According to an announcement made on Tuesday by **Hyderabad-based space firm Skyroot Aerospace**, India's first privately developed rocket, the Vikram-S, is scheduled to launch on November 15 on a sub-orbital mission with three payloads.

Skyroot Aerospace will launch its first mission, dubbed 'Prarambh' (the beginning), from the Sriharikota launchpad of the [**Indian Space Research Organization**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2281/launching-the-hotbird-13g-telecom-satellite-by-spacex-it-lands-its-rocket-at-sea) with the payloads of two Indian and one foreign client.

Everything points to a launch on November 15, 2022 'On Friday, Skyspace Aerospace made a statement. According to **CEO and co-founder of Skyroot Aerospace Pawan Kumar Chandana, the launch is slated for 11:30am.**

The name 'Vikram' is given to Skyroot's launchers in honour of [Vikram Sarabhai](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38482/name-the-world-s-lightest-material-which-was-manufactured-by-isro-scientists-at-the-vikram-sarabhai-space-centre-thiruvananthapuram-and-is-also-known-as-blue-air), the eminent scientist who founded the Indian space program. Skyroot, a Hyderabad-based startup, was the first to sign a memorandum of [understanding](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12918/cat-5e-vs-cat-6a-understanding-the-major-differences) with ISRO for the launch of its rockets.

By expanding its mission to make spaceflights accessible, dependable, and regular for everyone, it seeks to dismantle entry barriers to cost-effective [satellite launch](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/114603/name-the-rocket-used-in-isro-s-first-successful-satellite-launch) services and spaceflight, according to the statement.

With its establishment in 2018, Skyroot has made use of **cutting-edge composite and 3D [printing technology](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/99770/what-are-some-of-the-potential-applications-of-3d-printing-technology)** to successfully construct and test **India's first privately manufactured cryogenic, hypergolic-liquid, and solid fuel-based rocket engines.**

In September of this year, [**Skyroot Aerospace**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2266/according-to-nasa-elon-musk-s-spacex-anticipates-launching-its-first-starship-into-orbit-this-year) was successful in raising $51 million (roughly Rs. 410 crore) in a Series-B [financing](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12860/how-to-get-financing-for-salvage-title-cars) transaction. In July of last year, it completed a Series-A capital raise for $11 million, or roughly Rs. 88 crore.
