According to **Starlink's (SpaceX's internet subsidiary)** new fair use policy, people who use Starlink for home internet may now [experience](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12276/how-timely-order-deliveries-can-improve-customer-experience) throttling if they use too much internet during a monthly billing cycle. This information was provided by Mashable India. **Throttling is the technique of purposefully reducing someone's [internet speed](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13052/3-valuable-tips-for-increasing-the-internet-speed)** to [enhance the performance](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/158112/how-is-nanotechnology-being-used-to-enhance-the-performance-and-functionality-of-consumer-products) of the network as a whole. Users whose monthly [data usage](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/99779/how-to-set-up-a-mobile-hotspot-or-control-data-usage-for-specific-apps) between 7 AM and 11 PM exceeds 1 TB will be throttled. Customers can pay **USD 0.25 per GB of data** if they wish to continue receiving better speeds before the start of the next billing period, but otherwise, it will be a one-way trip to slowness town. Less than 10% of current [**Starlink**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2219/from-december-2022-moving-vehicles-will-be-able-to-use-spacex-s-starlink-satellite) members use more than 1TB per month. It is not difficult to foresee using more than 1TB of data in a month for people who lead a specific lifestyle. The cost of additional **Priority [Access data](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/159853/how-to-access-data-using-entity-framework-in-asp-dot-net-mvc) is 25 cents per GB, and any data used between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. is not deducted from your Priority Access total**. (For instance, you could wish to schedule device backups to run when everyone is sleeping or download new Call of Duty upgrades.) Priority Access is completely unavailable to RV and Portability [satellite internet](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/3057/first-satellite-internet) users, however there are multiple tiers available to anyone with a [Business account](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32326/is-a-company-page-a-business-account-on-linkedin) or who is using Starlink at sea.
