# Issue preventing users from accessing Facebook's social networking platforms has been resolved.

More than 11,000 users of Instagram, [**Facebook**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2238/in-a-u-s-litigation-involving-facebook-s-virtual-reality-agreement-zuckerberg-will-testify), and [Messenger](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50437/how-to-fix-messenger-that-keeps-crashing-or-stops-working-on-your-iphone-x-after-installing-a-new-ios-update) reported issues with accessing the [applications](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12847/how-to-choose-the-right-ethernet-cable-for-industrial-applications), [sending messages](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95290/why-is-my-telegram-not-sending-messages), and signing into their accounts, according to the outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

Just earlier this week, Meta's [**WhatsApp**](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2229/the-it-ministry-is-reportedly-questioning-whatsapp-about-the-reason-for-tuesday-s-outage) [messaging](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2265/new-eu-law-could-open-up-messaging-and-app-buying) service encountered a global outage that was quickly rectified. **By [combining](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85223/hybrid-vehicles-combining-fuel-efficiency-and-performance) status information from several sources, including user-submitted issues on its site, Downdetector tracks outages**. Recall that the more than hour-long global outage was apologised for by the Meta-owned WhatsApp. **On Tuesday, the messaging service app went down for more than an hour, making it impossible for many of the billions of users of this well-liked service to connect or communicate.**

'It is commonly known that WhatsApp now has transmission issues. We apologise for the inconvenience. The problem has been resolved ' a Meta representative said

WhatsApp claimed service on the popular messaging platform has been restored following a brief outage on Tuesday that left [customers](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13008/how-does-a-customer-portal-enhance-the-experience-of-customers) angry they couldn't send or [receive messages](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/113102/why-can-t-i-send-or-receive-messages-on-whatsapp). **According to Downdetector, which tracks outage complaints, people started reporting problems at three in the morning EDT.**

The company was informed that some users were having issues sending messages, the issue has been fixed, and WhatsApp apologises for any difficulty this may have caused. **2014 saw the [acquisition](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2246/following-elon-musk-s-acquisition-gm-suspends-its-twitter-advertising) of WhatsApp by Meta (previously Facebook). It is quite well-liked, especially outside of the US, where many individuals use it for daily communication.**
