# As Apple News Feed got Hacked, the Fast Company’s Website got Shut Down

**US** business and media publication **Fast Company** has mentioned that it was going to [shut down](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/108505/what-to-do-if-your-computer-won-t-shut-down) its website on **Tuesday** evening. It was just after the site was hacked and had sent '**obscene and racist**' notifications to **Apple** users through the [iPhone](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2006/apple-started-to-manufacture-iphone-14-in-india) maker's Apple [News](https://www.mindstick.com/developersection/news) service.

The news publishers who have been using the **Apple News** [aggregation](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/217/what-is-aggregation-and-how-it-maps-into-a-java-class) app would be able to connect their digital [publishing](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/11827/self-publishing-variety) tools to Apple News in order to send [push notifications](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/116274/push-notifications-stop-working-but-in-app-notifications-work) to [Apple](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1967/apple-launched-iphone-14-lineup-along-with-watch-series-8-and-airpods-pro-2) customers who would subscribe to the publisher's channel. Fast Company mentioned that the hackers have got into those publishing tools.

Just after a minute Fast Company has mentioned in a tweet that it had suspended the Apple News feed till certain situation was resolved, the hackers have sent two '**obscene and racist push notifications**.'

The publication has added to it that '**We were working on the situation and have suspended the feed & pack up FastCompany.com till we would be able to resolve the situation**.'

In a subsequent tweet just after the shutdown, Fast Company has mentioned that its [content management system](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/12586/list-of-the-five-best-content-management-systems-in-2019) where the software had utilized by news outlets to publish and manage their stories which have been hacked to send the notifications.

Fast Company had mentioned that it had earlier suffered an '**apparently related**' hack of its website on **Sunday** afternoon, once similar language appeared on its [home page](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95562/how-do-i-change-the-safari-home-page-on-a-mac) which would cause it to shut the site down for around **2 hours**.
