# Reasons to not Install iPhone to iOS 16 Till Now

People have been definitely tempting to install the **iOS 16** developer beta on their **iPhone** to explore all the exciting new features which it would provide, however it would be a great idea to wait if an individual have their personal [iPhone](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1981/iphones-security-patches-to-be-rolled-back) that they use daily.

```
```

Well, the [general public](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/97352/when-did-cameras-start-being-used-by-the-general-public) release would take place by the end of the **2022**, mostly in the month of **September**. With this the developer beta lets app makers to dive in and start preparing their apps. However, anyone would be able to install the beta even without being a developer.

It undoubtedly sounds tempting, and it could be clearly understandable if an individual does not wish to wait for months to explore the newest **iOS**, however there were reasons why an individual should wait till September or till the [iOS 16](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1760/use-the-iphone-like-a-pro-by-using-the-apple-ios-16-tips-and-tricks) [public beta](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50800/how-to-submit-bug-report-for-iphone-7-ios-11-public-beta-version-other-os-issues) would be out. Most of the problems would be fixed when Apple makes the general public beta available but there would be no guarantee, and there were plenty of things to think about. The reasons behind not installing iOS 16 till now were:

1. **Certain amount of money would be required to officially install**

Currently, iOS 16 was only available for the members of the **Apple Developer Program**, and therefore the [subscription](https://www.mindstick.com/news/3093/meta-launches-quest-subscription-for-vr-headsets) would cost around **$99** annually. That cost of the subscription was certainly worthwhile for developers or anyone who must test new software for work. Otherwise, **$99** would be [considered as](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/156093/what-is-considered-as-more-significant-creating-content-or-building-backlinks) a lot of money to try out beta software.

If an individual would not be a developer, the most effective choice would be to wait for the iOS 16 public beta. It was expected in **July** which would be in the early month if it was like last year's public beta that came out 23 days after the first developer beta. A 23-day mark has already being hit so it would be as early as **July 1**.

2. **There would be inconvenient bugs and performance problems**

While running a beta people would always experience a few bugs but it would get much worse before Apple releases its public betas. So, if they would download the iOS 16 developer beta on their primary iPhone, people would notice some annoying issues while doing everyday tasks. A number of the [possible problems](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96168/microsoft-word-is-not-opening-on-my-laptop-for-a-few-days-what-may-be-the-possible-problems) iOS 16 beta has got to provide were

- People would be unable to stream photos and videos to **Apple TV** or an **AirPlay** 2-enabled smart TV directly from the **Photos** app.
- People might not be able to reinstall any of Apple's system apps when solely connected to a cellular network.
- People would unable to find their **App Library** just immediately after rebooting.
- Maps might quit unexpectedly throughout navigation when waking their iPhone from the [Lock Screen](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/99793/how-can-you-customize-the-appearance-and-behavior-of-the-lock-screen-on-an-iphone) or ending navigation.
- People’s iPhone may stop communicating with **HomePod** or **Home Services**.

Well, there were still more bugs that people might experience. The largest performance-related drawback may be severe [battery drain](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/94752/how-fast-should-a-phone-battery-drain-in-an-hour), which has been a continuous difficulty in early beta builds.
