# Texas’ Lawsuit can Proceed on Google’s Ad Dominance

**Alphabet Inc's Google** should face every but just one [antitrust](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/41804/the-sherman-antitrust-act-imposed-limitations-upon-which-group) allegation about its [online advertising](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102506/how-does-google-adwords-work-for-online-advertising) [business](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12213/how-to-start-a-jewellery-making-business-online-business-ideas) which had been brought in a lawsuit by attorneys general for **Texas** and **16 different states** or territories, as ruled by a federal judge.

[Google](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1853/google-launches-online-campaign-for-apple-to-fix-texting-and-adopt-rcs-messaging) achieved the success of its motion to withdraw an allegation that a [cooperation](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/30943/with-which-country-indian-cabinet-signed-the-agreement-on-scientific-and-technological-cooperation) [agreement](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/88513/what-to-look-for-in-a-retainer-agreement-with-defence-lawyers-in-dubai) it got struck with **Meta [Platforms](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/126146/the-current-scenario-of-cryptocurrency-exchange-platforms)' Facebook** in **2018**. Therefore, it was an unlawful restraint of trade with **U.S. District Judge P. Kevin Castel** who had mentioned that the companies had valid business reasons for the deal.

Though, Google had failed to make Castel agree to dismiss three different counts associated with its market power, although the judge found that some underlying claims by the states have lacked the merits.

Spokespeople for Texas' attorney general's office and Google had not responded immediately to requests for comment.

The antitrust case has been one among many against Google and different other [big tech companies](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1919/for-fair-competition-in-digital-markets-big-tech-firms-were-grilled-by-parliamentary-panel) which would travel to trial over following couple of years.
