# Rs. 40 Crore was Sanctioned as EV Purchase Grant by the Rajasthan Government

The **[Rajasthan government](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/38074/name-the-free-learning-app-launched-by-the-rajasthan-government)** had enforced a brand new electrical vehicle policy by providing financial incentives to **EV buyers** within the state on **Thursday**. Under the new **Rajasthan [Electric Vehicle](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2275/starting-price-for-the-mercedes-benz-eqe-electric-vehicle-is-76-050) Policy (REVP)**, the government has approved **Rs. 40 crore** as total contribution on the acquisition of [electric vehicles](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1799/audi-to-focus-on-electric-vehicles-and-discontinue-ice-vehicles-by-2033). The policy which had aimed towards encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles within the country were effective for five years which began from **September 1**. The **[Chief Minister](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87407/bengal-chief-minister-mamata-banerjee-s-love-for-muslims-and-hate-for-hindus-why) [Ashok Gehlot](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/92867/why-did-ashok-gehlot-become-the-chief-minister-of-rajasthan-why-didn-t-sachin-pilot)** had declared the EV policy in the budget for **2019-20**.

As per a report, the [state government](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/62216/name-the-two-new-district-formed-by-tamil-nadu-state-government) had issued the notification for the [implementation](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/33764/how-to-implementation-of-class-in-c-sharp) of the **Rajasthan Electric Vehicle Policy (REVP).** The EV policy was effective for five years which had already been started. The state government had sanctioned a fund of Rs. 40 crore for contribution on the acquisition of EVs.

Earlier, the **Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot** had declared the policy in budget 2019-20. Later, the draft of the policy was approved on **May 24** this year. The government has also approved a one-time contribution to the acquisition of electric vehicles along with an extra budget provision of Rs. 40 crore for the **State [Goods and Services](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/101686/can-you-explain-the-goods-and-services-tax-gst-in-india) Tax (SGST)**.

To encourage the acquisition of EVs, the authorities would reimburse SGST amount of **Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000** for [two-wheelers](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1591/expert-committee-will-probe-the-electric-2-wheeler-mishap-s-says-transport-minister). If an individual go for the purchase of three-wheelers, **Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000** would be reimbursed based on the battery capability of the vehicle.

At the same time, the transport department has received Rs. 40 crore to clear all unfinished dues associated with electric vehicle purchases.
