# Samsung Display to Provide 80 Million OLED Panels to iPhone 14 Series

**Samsung Display** would supply over **80 million OLED panels** or the **iPhone 14** models. The latest iPhone series has mentioned to use **low-[temperature](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/300335/what-is-normal-body-temperature) polycrystalline oxide (LTPO)**-**thin film transistor (TFT)** based OLEDs with high charge transfer and stability from the **South Korean company**. There was a rumor about **Apple** having four new models in the **iPhone 14 series**, with different display experiences.

Citing individuals who were familiar with the matter, according to the reports mass [production](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/1489/the-countries-that-dominate-world-fossil-fuel-production) and delivery for the panels which came from Samsung Display were planned to start within the **third quarter** of this year. The new iPhone family was expecting to debut within the **[second half](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50143/what-challanges-did-the-us-face-in-the-second-half-of-the-19th-century)** of the year, just after the delivery of key components which included OLED panels.

Out of total **80 million units**, the publication has mentioned that Samsung Display would supply **38.17 million panels** especially for the **iPhone 14** and **iPhone 14 Plus**.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus were asked to carry **6.1- and 6.7-inch** displays, respectively. The **[iPhone 14 Pro](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/story/1077/iphone-14-pro-max-launching-today-is-expected-to-get-5-major-upgrades)** and **iPhone 14 Pro Max** were even reported to come in the same [screen sizes](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/158661/how-to-create-a-responsive-layout-that-adapts-to-different-screen-sizes-using-css-media-queries) that were asked to be available on the other two models but with some display-level changes to supply a superior experience.

Some previous reports had suggested that the [Pro models](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/51616/what-are-the-major-differences-between-the-current-macbook-and-macbook-pro-models-which-is-best-for-me) within the series would come with an always-on display feature.

Samsung Display was asked to create partners with companies which would include **Duksan Neolux**, **Solus Advanced Materials**, and **Samsung SDI** to mass produce and supply its OLED displays. Since the launch of the **iPhone X** in **2017** the company has been supplying its OLED screens to [Apple](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1941/the-anti-abuse-steps-need-to-be-shared-by-the-apple-microsoft-and-meta-on-australia-s-demand). It was also asked to supply the largest display volume this year, all because of the growing sales of the recent [iPhone models](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/51516/what-are-all-the-differences-between-the-iphone-5-iphone-5s-and-iphone-se-are-any-of-these-small-iphone-models-still-worth-buying).

Alongside [Samsung](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1130/apple-sold-most-5g-smart-phones-in-q3-2021-samsung-holds-second-strategic-analytics) Display, **China's BOE** was also asked to be within the race to produce OLED panels for the iPhone 14 models. The South Korean company was however, speculated to surpass the production of its Chinese counterpart. There were possibilities that BOE would lose its contract this point of time because of some design modification issues.
