# An Antitrust Suit against Apple has been Prepared

Since **2019**, the **Justice Department**’s antitrust division was found to be investigating Apple, and as per the information that was reported last **October** the probability of the probe was resulting in a lawsuit was rising. [Apple](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1808/after-quarterly-revenue-drop-apple-has-rebounded-the-demand-in-china) would be a part of fellow [technology](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13005/the-functional-aspects-of-laser-technology) giants **[Alphabet](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1801/due-to-slow-growth-google-s-parent-company-alphabet-has-faced-less-profit) and Meta** in facing federal antitrust suits, as **Alphabet’s Google and Meta’s [Facebook](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/44467/successful-companies-that-utilize-facebook-as-a-social-media-platform)** were sued by the **Justice Department and Federal Trade [Commission](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/62212/who-has-been-elected-as-the-first-female-president-of-the-european-commission)**, severally, in **2020** for alleged monopolistic practices. Critics have denounced Apple’s long standing policy of taking a **30 percent** cut on most purchases which was made on the **[App Store](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2221/apple-s-new-ad-tax-on-the-app-store-is-a-clear-jab-at-meta)**, though Apple had altered the policy last **August** amid a high-profile antitrust lawsuit against the company by **Epic Games**. Well, according to the **October 2020** [investigation](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2149/twitter-claims-in-court-that-elon-musk-is-the-subject-of-government-investigations) by the **House** antitrust subcommittee had found that Apple has “**monopoly power**” over the smartphone app market.
