# Find Out Different Ways to Change the Apple ID Password

The quickest and easiest way to reset one's password is with one's own **iPhone** or other trusted **Apple device**. It could be the one that an individual is already signed in to with their **Apple ID**, so that [Apple](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1769/apple-is-on-its-way-to-slow-down-the-hiring-process-in-2023) have an idea that it was the particular individual. Well, one need to have a passcode or password in case of **Mac**, which need to be set up on one's device.

## One should reset their Apple ID password on their iPhone or other trusted Apple device

- First go to the **Settings**
- Then tap the **Name** of the person > then to the **Password & [Security](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/43813/new-security-technologies)** option > at last to **Change Password**

**One can even follow this method on a trusted iPad, [iPod touch](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/51512/which-iphone-ipad-and-ipod-touch-models-support-ios-12-do-some-models-partially-support-ios-12-which-ones), or Apple Watch**

In order to reset one's [password](https://www.mindstick.com/news/733/colonial-pipeline-cyberattack-was-reached-by-the-compromised-password) on the trusted **Mac**, one need to choose **Apple** **Menu**  > then the **System Preferences** options. Then click on the **Apple ID**, click on the **Password & Security** option and from there one can easily change it.

If an individual does not have an Apple device, one can take from a friend or family member, or even they can visit an **Apple Store**.

- One need to first open the **Apple Support** app on the other's Apple device. If required one can [download](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/188403/website-to-download-photos-from-instagram) the Apple Support app from the [App Store](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2221/apple-s-new-ad-tax-on-the-app-store-is-a-clear-jab-at-meta).
- Then tap on the **[Passwords](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/301672/how-time-based-one-time-passwords-work) & Security** option > Reset the **Apple ID** password > At tap **Get Started.**
- Later tap on '**A different Apple ID**'
- At last enter the **Apple ID** and then follow the onscreen instructions to reset one's password.

## One need to reset their Apple ID password on the web

If an individual does not have a trusted device, they can be able to reset their password on the web but this process might take a little longer.

When it would be possible, the web process would [redirect](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/2005/radio-button-redirect) the individual to a trusted device. If they would have an access to one of their trusted devices soon, it might become faster and easier to reset their password then.
