# Free 4G Flip Phones to Customers who still into 3G Network by Verizon

**Verizon** looks poised after a number of delays to eventually follow through on [shutting down](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/50414/how-to-fix-an-iphone-x-that-keeps-crashing-shutting-down-randomly-after-updating-ios) its 3G CDMA network towards the [end of the year](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/92965/which-corona-vaccines-can-be-made-by-the-end-of-the-year). However, the carrier continues to be contending with a subset of customers who has sat out the 4G LTE era and they have not yet upgraded their 3G phones. Though, 2022 rolls onward, Verizon has been sending those wireless subscribers a free very basic flip phone. They have offered phones in order to [prevent them](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/12559/real-threats-to-your-business-how-to-prevent-them) from losing connectivity when once the 3G [network](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1618/telecom-department-has-removed-network-operation-and-control-center-charges-for-all-licence-holder) goes offline.

According to its website, Verizon can give customers with one amongst three phones: the **Orbic Journey V**, **TCL’s Flip Pro**, or the **Nokia 2720 V Flip**. The retail price for every device is beneath $100: the Orbic is $99.99, with the other two running $79.99.

According to Verizon clients can choose out of the free 4G LTE flip phone by giving a call to [customer service](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/105954/3-ways-inbound-call-centers-take-to-upgrade-customer-service) and telling them that they’d wish to “**decline the free phone for CDMA sunset**.” All [three phones](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1043/ibm-and-samsung-new-chip-architecture-might-result-in-phones-with-a-week-long-battery-life) have received negative reviews on Verizon’s website that would overwhelm them with the two stars as average. They showed their disagreement towards the phone by saying that these are terribly basic phones, after all. The company notes that customers will be able to exchange the free phone for [something else](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/1654/can-anybody-say-my-below-code-is-a-variable-function-or-something-else) while receiving it. Phones can mechanically be activated after 30 days of sending out if the customers have failed to do so on their own.

Well, last year AT&T had sent Samsung smartphones to some of the subscribers with 3G devices. **Sprint’s LTE** networks were switched off simply few days ago, permitting those resources to be highly utilized by **T-Mobile**. The latter company has finished off its 3G UMTS network on July 1st, mentioning “**across the industry, wireless companies are operating to retire themselves from older network technologies as a part of a very important progression which will greatly [enhance the performance](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/158112/how-is-nanotechnology-being-used-to-enhance-the-performance-and-functionality-of-consumer-products) of 4G and 5G**.”
