# Airtel's New Technology Centre in Pune and 500 Employees Hiring by Current Fiscal End

[Airtel](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1378/airtel-reports-decline-in-q3-net-profit-by-2-8-percent) is [going to set up](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85094/royal-enfield-going-to-set-up-assembly-lines-in-nepal-and-bangladesh) its new technology hub for the first time in Pune, in the western region. The Centre will be the **fourth Airtel Technology hub in India**.

[Bharti Airtel](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1364/bharti-airtel-plans-to-spend-rs-1-17-000-crore-on-businesses-with-subsidiaries), in the Western region, wanted to support digital services and hence it will set up a new technology center in Pune. The company will hire around 500 digital engineering professionals by the end of the [fiscal year](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/104441/what-is-the-fiscal-year-in-india), told a senior company official.

Airtel’s New Technology Hub will be the fourth in India and first in the western region to support its strategy to pivot to a digital service company.

The future vision of the company has been revealed by the senior official *Pradipt Kapoor*, the chief information officer said the company is rapidly scaling up its digital [talent pool](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32370/is-the-term-talent-pool-obsolete) which will support its transmission into a digital telco.

He said “Pune being an established IT and [tech](https://www.mindstick.com/services/technologies) hub, makes it an obvious choice for Airtel to tap into the talent pool and also drive cross-industry collaboration,” said the chief information officer of Airtel.

Airtel already had such technology hubs in **Gurgaon, Noida, and Bengaluru** which altogether employ close to **3,000** people.
