# SpaceX Signed its First In-Flight Wi-Fi Deal with Jet Service JSX

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been in talks for months with airlines to provide **Starlink Internet in-flight**.

**[SpaceX](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1160/spacex-elon-musk-s-owned-raises-over-337-million-in-fresh-funding)** is making a deal with an air carrier to provide In-flight wireless Internet using the **Starlink satellite network**, the company said on Thursday as it jockeys with other burgeoning satellite firms to put high-speed Internet on commercial airlines.

Tesla’s Chief Executive Elon Musk is the owner of the [Space Agency](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32252/cryogenic-engine-for-upper-stage-of-gslv-mk-iii-was-successfully-tested-by-which-space-agency) Starlink. Musk has been in talks for months with airlines to provide Starlink Internet in-flight, a key prong in SpaceX’s strategy to scoop up [enterprises](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/44880/who-is-the-minister-of-heavy-industries-and-public-enterprises)’ customers beyond consumers and households in [rural areas](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/113789/how-can-governments-address-the-challenges-of-unequal-access-to-education-in-rural-areas) of the globe with little to no [Internet access](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102520/how-does-google-s-project-loon-provide-internet-access).

The deal is with the renowned semi-private jet service JSX and involves equipping **100 airplanes** with Starlink terminals, the chartered company said in a statement that the Starlink-connected plane taking flight by year’s end, further the spokesperson declined to disclose the value of the partnership.

Space agency SpaceX has launched some **2,000 Starlink** to low-Earth orbit since 2019 and, still, the network is not available fully, offers broadband [Internet service](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/12030/netgear-extender-internet-service-phone-number) to thousands of customers in a handful of **Gulfstream jets**, as well as [military aircraft](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87777/modi-and-sanchez-launch-india-s-first-private-military-aircraft-plant).
