# Google's Cyber Threat Analysing Team Project Zero Founds record-breaking 58 wild exploits in 2021.

**Google’s Project Zero** finds a record-breaking **58 zero-day** in-the-wild exploits in **2021**. The numbers are the most Zero-Day Exploits and the team is working to minimise them in the future.

Google’s Project Zero includes the **[cyber security](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1435/russia-behind-ukraine-ddos-cyber-attacks-us-uk)** experts and analysts, who look at advanced threats, and have found a record number of exploits in 2021. Project Zero, in a [blog](https://www.mindstick.com/developersection/blog) post, announced that these zero-day vulnerabilities and exploits had reached a record-breaking number of 58.

The team Google was **founded in 2014** and after one year, the team found **28 cases in 2015** which was **reduced to 25 in the year 2020**. Generally, a spike can be seen in the cyberattacks numbers just because of the popularity of [cryptocurrency](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/327746/effective-ways-to-earn-in-cryptocurrency) but as per Google, the spike5 in this year is due to improvements in detecting and reporting zero-day occurrences.

The blog post of Project Team stated about most of the zero-day exploit uses were “similar to previous publicly known vulnerabilities.” It also told that only two events stood out for their “technological sophistication.” The increase in the numbers does not look more serious in comparison to the previous year when it comes to zero-day vulnerabilities.

## What is Zero-Day vulnerability?

It stands for security flaws that developers have just got to know about. In the last, they don’t have any day to fix the flaw.
