# Russian Space Chief Says Sanctions Could Put International Space Station at Risk

**International Space Station** has partners from all over the world but Russia is the major share in the space station. Space is the last sector in which Russia is in partnership with [Western Countries](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/100154/what-is-russophobia-is-it-a-thing-in-western-countries) but it seems the ties are going to be broken.

The head of the Space program in Russia said on Saturday for the collaboration between the two nations, the **future days** of the International Space Station **hangs in the balance** after the [United States](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2228/the-united-states-claims-seagate-broke-export-laws-by-selling-huawei-hard-drives), the [European Union](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/81325/european-union-loses-to-china), and Canadian [Space agencies](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/102205/how-do-space-agencies-plan-and-execute-space-missions) missed a deadline to meet Russian demands for lifting sanctions over Russian Export and Imports.

The head of Roscosmos, **Dmitry Rozogin** asked a reporter while he was being asked about the intention of the **International Space Station’s** partnership. He said the state agency is preparing a report on the prospects of [international cooperation](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/35303/is-there-under-human-rights-law-an-obligation-of-international-cooperation) at the station and the report to be presented to federal authorities “After **Roscosmos** completed its analysis.”

He added, “Only the engines of our cargo craft are able to correct the ISS’s orbit, keeping it safe from space debris.” Rogozin told.

He said about the relationship between the partner countries as “the restoration of normal relations between partners and the ISS and other joint (space) projects is possible only with the complete and unconditional lifting” of sanction that was imposed with illegal intent.

In a response to the Russian comment, **Canadian [Space Agency](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/32252/cryogenic-engine-for-upper-stage-of-gslv-mk-iii-was-successfully-tested-by-which-space-agency)** declined to comment whereas **[NASA](https://www.mindstick.com/news/1532/nasa-starts-artemis-i-critical-final-test-on-sls-mega-moon-rocket)** and the **European Space Agency** did not immediately return the comment for a reply.
