# Microsoft's Search Engine Bing will Suspend Auto-Suggest Feature in China

**[Microsoft](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12301/microsoft-is-trying-to-kill-passwords) Bing,** the only major foreign [search engine](https://www.mindstick.com/services/search-engine-optimization) will **suspend** its **Auto-Suggest Feature** in China. The suspension is the second time of its kind after December

China’s regulators have drafted rules in August and after several months they are now coming into effect with this month. The major used foreign search engine available in China asked to suspend its Auto-Suggest Feature in China **for seven days**.

The action of the Chinese authority [came into effect](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/37863/constitution-of-india-came-into-effect-from) when China is **crack downing on [technology](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/13005/the-functional-aspects-of-laser-technology) platforms** and [algorithms](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12297/google-algorithms-why-so-important) from Beijing.

The Chinese users first **spotted the suspension on Saturday.**

In a response, Bing said “Bing is a [global search](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95334/how-do-i-do-a-global-search-on-telegram-instead-of-a-chat-search) platform and remains committed to respecting the [rule of law](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/39394/the-concept-of-rule-of-law-is-a-special-feature-of-constitutional-system-of-which-country) and users’ right to access information,” the search engine Bing said in Chinese site. The Microsoft company didn’t respond immediately and not even disclosed the reason for the suspension.

Internet [companies](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85554/why-must-companies-have-a-profile-page-on-mindstick) have been hit over the past years by the regulators and their regulatory imposed curbs on the areas from content to customer privacy. Chinese regulators have released some norms and rules that told the companies how internet platforms can and cannot make use of algorithms.
