# Surge in Electric, Hybrid Vehicles as India Sees shift in Mobility: Deloitte Consumer Study Says

As per the study, **about 59 percent** of the Indians have concerns about Pollution levels, [climate change](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/299742/climate-change-and-health), and **Vehicle emissions.**

The main reason by the study has revealed that the interest of the consumers of the electric car is due to the **availability of lower-cost fuel.**

Indian Consumers are willing to change their choice as of now they wanted to own electrified and hybrid Vehicles told as per the research of **Deloitte’s Global Automotive Consumer study 2022.**

It also told that one in every third Indian consumer has shown its interest in [electric Vehicle](https://www.mindstick.com/news/2275/starting-price-for-the-mercedes-benz-eqe-electric-vehicle-is-76-050) and Hybrid technology. The segment of people who have such choice have the concern about the environment-friendly, self-manufactured, and sustainable solutions post-pandemic told in the annual report.

The research also included the concern of **59% of the people** for the climate change, pollution levels, and gasoline diesel vehicle emission have the [serious concern](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/87066/bangalore-water-crisis-is-a-serious-concern-for-india) over them. The report also includes that the reason why people wanted a switch from the [automobile sector](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/audio/1009/ratan-tata-revealed-its-life-journey-in-automobile-sector) is due to fuel cost, [environmental consciousness](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/85665/yogi-philosophy-and-environmental-consciousness-explore-now), and a better driving experience, stated in a report.

The report also said that there is a push in the **[Union Budget of 2022 to 2023](https://yourviews.mindstick.com/view/83047/indian-budget-of-2022-2023-is-in-the-hands-of-nirmala-sitharaman)** to switch towards battery swapping and [charging infrastructure](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/96049/which-organization-has-released-the-handbook-for-electric-vehicle-charging-infrastructure-implementation). The report also said the budget has a great interest over green mobility.

“Riding on the crest of evolving customer need and disruptive innovations, the Indian [automotive industry](https://www.mindstick.com/blog/303104/the-future-of-technology-in-the-automotive-industry) is going to witness a new era of growth. Our latest study delves deep into the changing consumer perceptions indicating a significant increase in the number of consumers, we are evaluating alternate power train options and this is likely to drive the growth of **EVs (especially two and three Wheelers)** in the country,” was stated in a report issued by Deloitte India partner and automotive leader Rajeev Singh added.

The report also witnessed a growth of subscription-based models to cater to the ever-evolving needs of millennials and **GenZs** with its flexible ownership ability.

The **70 percent of Indian consumers** and Indian users have shown their interest in a subscription that allows access to different models of similar brands **whereas 72 percent** are interested in different brands which are manufacturing such vehicles, and some percent of consumers are interested in the preorder system of Vehicle.
