# Jio Signs Agreement With Estonia's University of Oulu for Collaboration on 6G Technology

The object of this collaboration is to enhance the [5G technology](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/333114/features-benefits-and-challenges-of-5g-technology) to 6G technology. Estonia’s arm of Jio and the University of Oulu [signed an agreement](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/95885/india-signed-an-agreement-with-the-un-world-food-program-for-the-distribution-of-wheat-to-which-country) that will also foster entrepreneurship.

Jio platform is the parent of telecom player Reliance Jio.

The 6G flagship professor Matti Latvaho of the University of Oulu said in a comment “[As the leader](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/100637/who-holds-power-as-the-leader-of-north-korea-today) of the world’s first major 6G research programme, the University of Oulu focuses on wireless communications leading to 6G technologies.”

## Further adding

“We are looking forward to collaborating with Jio Estonia and the entire Reliance Group on targeted research initiatives that will enable future wireless end-to-end solutions for a wide range of end-user requirements,” the Professor of University said on Thursday.

The collaboration between both parties is said to be a change in the platform of entrepreneurship which will be fostered. The world-class pool of expertise from both the industry and academia in the field of aerial and space communication, Holographic beamforming, 3D connected intelligence in [cyber security](https://www.mindstick.com/articles/12693/how-big-data-analytics-boosts-cyber-security), microelectronics, and photonics.

“The collaborative effort will aid in compet7ing with 6G- enabled products in the defence, automotive, white goods, industrial machinery, [consumer goods](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/51388/what-consumer-goods-became-an-important-part-of-american-life-in-the-1950s), efficient manufacturing, novel personal smart device environments, and experiences such as computing and autonomous traffic settings,” said in a statement.

The CEO of Jio Estonia, Taavi Kotka said that Jio has a total of 400 million subscribers and the experience shows its building capacity to transmit [large amounts of data](https://www.mindstick.com/forum/161107/how-does-mongodb-handle-large-amounts-of-data-and-maintain-performance) and it is becoming critical.

He said further in a statement “With the collaboration with the University of Oulu, we can make sure that we keep growing and developing [as the world](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/62160/according-to-the-henley-passport-index-india-ranks-which-position-as-the-world-s-most-travel-friendly-passport) region of the future,” said Taavi Kotka.

The senior [vice president](https://answers.mindstick.com/qa/35925/this-president-was-a-congressman-senator-governor-and-vice-president-before-he-became-president) of the Jio platform Aayush Bhatnagar said the early investment in 6G technology and step can complement the Jio Lab’s capability in 5G and bring 6G to life.
